We are animal people
Every member of our Himalayan High staff has at least one dog at home, and most of us have two or more pets. Sharing pictures of our adorable pooches and sharing stories about their hijinks feature in many (most) of our non-business conversations. Our store welcomes well-behaved pets and several of our regulars bring their canine kids (Jed, Buddy, Francis) in to see us on a regular basis. As soon as they prance in the door, our day is immediately better. It is with this love and respect for our favorite species that we happily introduce our newest Himalayan High community initiative.
Pet Drive to Support Local Shelters
We are proud to announce that beginning on November 15th, we will be partnering with our friends at Bountiful Farms to help out the dedicated and wonderful folks at Becket Animal Control as well as the animal control offices in Lee, Lenox, and Otis. They all have unfortunate pups in their kennels and we want to do what we can before the cold really hits. Winter is a difficult time for all of us, but it is especially challenging and sad for abandoned or homeless animals. For various reasons, way too many dogs, cats, and other affectionate animals are dumped or discarded by their families through no fault of their own. Whether it’s due to behavior problems, financial struggle, “landlord won’t allow dogs” issues, allergy risks, or other family pets not getting along, they end up in shelters and it’s heartbreaking. We’ve all seen the pictures and videos of emotionally broken dogs lying on concrete floors in chainlink cages, hopelessly facing the wall, and our eyes well up with tears. We want to save them all. I know I do. Well, through the efforts of this partnership, we can at least help the ones in our immediate neighborhood have a slightly better life until a special human makes them part of their family.
Donate and Get Rewarded
From November 15th until December 15th, we’d love for you to come into our comfortable, welcoming dispensary up on the hill at the corner of rt8 and rt20 in Becket and bring a little something for our furry friends. The great people at the shelters have asked us to ask you for only three things; dog food (dry and wet), cat food (dry and wet), as well as blankets or comforters. You might have expected a request for pillows and dog beds, but we were told that filled pillows and beds are harder for them to wash and maintain, while blankets and comforters are more versatile and user friendly. So, besides the ALWAYS needed food donations, they would love lightly used, good condition, recently washed (so we don’t bring any unwanted surprises into the shelter) blankets, throws, comforters, bedspreads and the like. When you bring in a donation and make am in-store purchase (details in store), we at Himalayan High would like to thank you with a gift, courtesy of Bountiful Farms.
Bountiful Partners
The generous and big-hearted gang at Bountiful Farms has been so helpful and kind in helping us get this fundraiser going. We have had their top-quality product on our shelves at Himalayan High almost since we opened, and we’re thrilled that they are as enthusiastic as we are when it comes to helping animals. As far as cannabis products go, we have a wide selection from them that you should check out. If you’re a concentrate fan, we have live hash rosin disposable vapes like this Candy Fumez , as well as pure Live Hash Rosin like this fabulous Bazanaz Both of these extracts are potent and tasty with high cannabinoid and terpene counts. If you’re a flower lover, you can’t go wrong with an eighth of Dripz It’s cold these days, and windy, and it’s hard to light bowls and joints, so maybe a bag of infused Chocolate Bon Bons is more your speed.
Bring your friends
If Himalayan High is already your dispensary of choice, we are very appreciative of your support. Come on in and see us, bring your well-behaved buddy with you, carry a little something for the less-fortunate pups in the Hill Towns, and grab yourself some Bountiful products. They grow fantastic buds and produce fabulous cannabis products. And, as it turns out, they are generous and compassionate people. Kind of like us. So, starting on November 15th, join us in helping our 4-legged friends, buy some Bountiful products for yourself and get a thank you gift from Himalayan High. If we can’t adopt all the fur-babies, help us improve their lives a touch.
