Labor Day in the Berkshires: A High-Minded Weekend of Rest and Reset

As a 30-year-old with a demanding career in marketing and a serious love for nature, I cherish long weekends like Labor Day as an opportunity to breathe, reset, and indulge in a bit of me-time. This year, I headed to the Berkshires—Western Massachusetts’ stunning gem of rolling hills, art galleries, and cozy farm-to-table spots. I booked an Air B&B in East Otis and made a plan to do absolutely nothing… in the most intentional way possible. As someone who enjoys cannabis casually and responsibly, I also packed a few of my favorite products to complement the weekend’s slower pace.

Saturday morning started with a hike on the Monument Mountain trail, coffee from Paige’s Place  in one hand, an Acapulco Gold vape from Perpetual in my pocket and a THC-infused seltzer in my backpack. I’ve found that a low-dose THC drink helps me stay present in my body, especially on solo hikes. It’s subtle but grounding, and perfect for easing into a mindful mindset. I chose a Levia Achieve  After reaching the summit and soaking in the view, I sat down for a little journaling session. This might sound a little woo-woo, but moments like this help me reconnect with myself. And let’s be honest—when you’re surrounded by that much beauty, it’s impossible not to get a little introspective.

Later that afternoon, I explored the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art (MASS MoCA), where I let myself get delightfully lost among the installations. Before heading in, I took a 5mg THC gummy from Kanha—just enough for a light buzz that enhances creativity without getting in the way of my focus. Micro-dosing has become my go-to method for daytime cannabis use: it’s discreet, controlled, and makes everything from music to visual art feel more immersive. I kept things slow, wandered through the exhibits, and even bought myself a print from a local artist as a souvenir.

Evenings in the Berkshires are magic, especially with good food and the right kind of wind-down. I went out for an early, scrumptious dinner at the Knox Trail Inn then headed over to Tanglewood for the Bonie Raitt concert. An evening on the lawn listening to Hall of Fame blues seemed like the perfect time for a couple puffs of the Dante’s Inferno  I picked up at Himalayan High earlier in the day. Paired with a glass of chilled rosé on a starry Auguest night it was the perfectly harmonious nightcap to a long day of movement, art, and solitude. I’ve learned that cannabis, when used intentionally, can be part of a deeply restful self-care routine—not an escape, but an enhancement.

I left the Berkshires on Monday morning feeling nourished, inside and out. Responsible cannabis use has never been about zoning out for me—it’s about tuning in more deeply to the present moment. With the right products, in the right settings, it can elevate experiences rather than numb them. My Labor Day weekend in western Mass wasn’t flashy or full of parties, but it was exactly what I needed: quiet joy, natural beauty, and a little green help along the way.
